Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the questions we get asked most — about ordering from GHRAAM, our ghee, and general ghee questions people often wonder about.
Quick answer: GHRAAM ships pan-India (2-3 days in Delhi NCR, up to 7 days elsewhere), processes orders in 1-2 business days, and offers replacements or refunds for damaged, incorrect, or missing items if reported within 24 hours of delivery. Cash on delivery is available. Since ghee is a food product, we don't accept returns for change of mind or taste preference.
Orders, Shipping & Returns
How long does shipping take?
Orders are typically processed within 1-2 business days after confirmation. Delivery timelines from there are approximately 2-3 business days for Delhi NCR, 3-5 business days for other metro cities, and 4-7 business days for the rest of India. These are estimates and may vary due to courier operations or unforeseen circumstances.
Do you ship pan-India?
Yes, GHRAAM delivers across most Indian pincodes. Delivery takes 2-3 business days for Delhi NCR, 3-5 days for other metro cities, and 4-7 days for the rest of India — enter your pincode at checkout to confirm availability.
What are the shipping charges?
Shipping charges, if any, are shown at checkout before payment. We frequently run free shipping offers across all products — check the banner on our site or your cart for current availability.
Do you offer Cash on Delivery (COD)?
Yes, COD is available across most of India on all GHRAAM products, with no extra COD charges. You'll see the option at checkout if it's available for your pincode.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept UPI, debit/credit cards, net banking, digital wallets, and Cash on Delivery (COD). All online payments are processed through secure, encrypted checkout.
Can I track my order?
Yes. Once your order ships (within 1-2 business days of confirmation), you'll receive tracking details via email, SMS, and WhatsApp — usually within a few hours of dispatch.
What if my order arrives damaged, leaking, or incorrect?
Please don't accept the delivery if visibly damaged or tampered, where possible. Contact us within 24 hours of delivery with your order number, photos of the product and packaging, and a brief description of the issue, and we'll arrange a replacement or refund.
What is your return policy?
Since our products are food items, we don't accept returns once an order is delivered, due to their perishable nature. This does not apply to genuine issues like damaged, leaking, incorrect, or missing items — those are covered separately (see above), as long as you reach out within 24 hours of delivery.
Can I return a jar because I don't like the taste, or if it looks slightly different from the last batch?
No — change of mind, taste preference, and minor natural variations in colour, texture, or aroma (which can occur in traditionally prepared, small-batch ghee) aren't eligible for return, since these are normal for handmade products rather than defects. For more on why this happens, see our storage and texture guide.
How do refunds work?
If your refund request is approved, it's processed to your original payment method, generally within 5-7 business days, depending on your bank or payment provider.
Can I cancel my order after placing it?
Yes, as long as it hasn't been dispatched yet. Once shipped, an order can't be cancelled. Contact us immediately after placing your order if you need to cancel.

About Our Ghee
What's the difference between A2 cow ghee and regular ghee?
A2 cow ghee comes from indigenous desi cow breeds and contains only A2 beta-casein protein, which is generally easier to digest than the A1 protein found in regular commercial ghee from crossbred cattle. Read our full A2 vs A1 comparison for details.
What is the Bilona method, and why does GHRAAM use it?
Bilona is a traditional method of making ghee by hand-churning fermented curd and slow-cooking it in small batches, rather than using machine-separated cream. It's slower and more labour-intensive, but produces a richer flavour and better digestibility. Read our full guide to the Bilona method for the complete process.
Is Bilona ghee the same as "cultured ghee"?
Yes. "Cultured ghee" is the term commonly used internationally — especially in keto, Ayurveda, and wellness communities — for ghee made by first fermenting milk into curd before churning, which is exactly what the Bilona method does. They describe the same traditional process GHRAAM uses. Read more in our Bilona method guide.
How do I know GHRAAM's ghee is genuinely pure?
Every batch is lab-tested by ARBRO Pharmaceuticals, an NABL-accredited testing lab, with results covering purity markers like the Baudouin test and milk fat content. See our guide on how to identify pure ghee to understand exactly what these tests check for.
Is A2 cow ghee worth the higher price compared to regular ghee?
It generally is if you value traceable sourcing, traditional preparation, and easier digestibility, though if you use ghee only occasionally, the price difference matters less. Read our full honest breakdown for a detailed answer.
What's the difference between your cow ghee and buffalo ghee?
Cow ghee is lighter and easier to digest, better suited for daily cooking, while buffalo ghee is richer and higher in fat, better suited for sweets and heavy cooking. See our cow vs buffalo ghee guide for a full comparison.
Is GHRAAM's ghee suitable for toddlers or young children?
Ghee is commonly introduced into children's diets in moderate amounts as part of traditional Indian feeding practices, but every child is different, and infants/toddlers should only start new foods on your paediatrician's guidance. See the age-based section in our cow vs buffalo ghee guide for more detail.
Storing & Gifting A2 Ghee
How should I store my ghee once I open it?
No refrigeration needed — keep it in an airtight jar, away from direct sunlight and heat, and always use a dry spoon to prevent moisture from shortening its shelf life. Opened jars typically last 3-6 months this way. See our full storage guide for the complete picture, including how to tell normal texture variation from actual spoilage.
Can I gift GHRAAM ghee?
Yes — our combo packs (Pure A2 Cow Ghee Trio, Twin Gold, Duo Delight) are designed specifically for gifting, and each saves 5% versus buying the jars separately. See our gift set guide to find the right one for the occasion.
General Ghee Questions
Is ghee good for weight loss?
Ghee contains medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs), which some research links to improved metabolism, and it can support satiety in a balanced diet. That said, it's still calorie-dense, so weight loss ultimately depends on your overall diet and portion control — 1-2 teaspoons a day is a commonly recommended moderate amount.
Does ghee increase cholesterol?
Ghee contains saturated fat, and its effect on cholesterol depends heavily on quantity and overall diet. In moderation, as part of a balanced diet, most healthy adults tolerate ghee well, but people with high cholesterol or heart conditions should consult their doctor about how much is appropriate for them.
Can diabetics eat ghee?
Ghee contains no carbohydrates or sugar, so it doesn't directly spike blood sugar. It's often used in moderation in diabetic-friendly diets, but as with any dietary fat, portion control matters, and it's best to check with your doctor for guidance specific to your condition.
Is ghee suitable for people with lactose intolerance?
Pure ghee is nearly lactose-free, since the clarification process removes almost all milk solids, which is where lactose is found. This makes it generally well-tolerated by many people with lactose sensitivity, though individual tolerance can vary.
How much ghee should I eat per day?
Most general guidance suggests 1-2 teaspoons per day for adults as part of a balanced diet, though this can vary based on individual health, activity level, and dietary needs. If you have a specific health condition, it's best to check with a doctor or nutritionist.
What's the difference between ghee and butter?
Ghee is butter that's been simmered to separate and remove the milk solids and water, leaving behind pure fat. This gives ghee a higher smoke point, a longer shelf life without refrigeration, and makes it more tolerable for people sensitive to dairy proteins or lactose compared to regular butter.
Does ghee need to be refrigerated after opening?
No, ghee is shelf-stable at room temperature due to its low moisture content. Store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, and always use a clean, dry spoon to prevent contamination. See our full storage guide for more detail.
Is ghee good for high-heat cooking?
Yes, ghee has a notably high smoke point (around 250°C), which makes it more stable for frying and high-heat cooking compared to many other fats and oils that break down or oxidise at lower temperatures.
Can I eat ghee every day?
Yes, for most healthy adults, daily consumption of ghee in moderate amounts (around 1-2 teaspoons) is considered safe and is a normal part of traditional Indian diets.
